Delivering revenues in excess of $200M per annum, Cisco Capital’s Refresh Organisation is responsible for the remanufacturing and resale of over 4,000 different product lines across all Cisco technologies, both current and end of sale.

Alastair Borissow is the Director, Worldwide Strategy Planning and Sales Operations for Cisco Refresh. Alastair has over 29 years sales management and operations experience in the IT sector. He has been with Cisco for over 16 years, and has held a number of Senior Sales Management positions.

Alastair’s team encompasses Business Strategy and Strategic Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing and Inventory Management. His group are focused on driving transformation within the Cisco Refresh organisation. Current initiatives include, developing the strategy to scale the business and leading innovation by developing Lifecycle business solutions - leveraging the Circular Economy.

Recent successes include developing and launching a global rebrand of Cisco Certified Refurbished Equipment (CCRE) into the newly formed Cisco Refresh division www.cisco.com/go/refresh.

In addition to this he was the inspiration and thought leader for the creation of Cisco’s “1CT discount reduction tool”, which is now available to all Cisco channel partners worldwide, to enhance their competitiveness.

Prior to taking on his global responsibility, Alastair led the Cisco EMEAR Remarketing operation as the Theatre General Manager. Throughout his time Alastair was able to lead his team of dedicated Remarketing managers to achieve consistent year on year double digit growth, by targeting competitive opportunities that can benefit from blending Cisco Certified remanufactured products.

During his 16 year career with Cisco, Alastair’s has held a number of senior sales management roles, including managing the HSBC client relationship globally and the EMEA theatre lead for Morgan Stanley, along with a number of other financial institutions such as BNP Paribas, Standard Chartered Bank, Cazenove , Nationwide and Santander. Having a technical engineering/sales background Alastair was also able to lead the establishment of the PSS Team for collaboration technology covering the Finance vertical, during the early development of the Product Sales Specialist role within Cisco.

Alastair has over 27 years sales and operations experience in the IT sector. Prior to joining Cisco in 1999, he worked for Telstra UK in London for 5 years, as a startup organisation. His initial role was to establish their customer services department and he was instrumental in the development of their Global Offshore Support Platform and Sales and contact management database. Transitioning into a direct sales role, as a Sales Account Manager, Alastair acquired the British Aerospace account for Telstra and subsequently moved into a Senior Sales management role, leading their Aerospace and Defence sales team.

Alastair was born in Kent, England, but spent his childhood from the age of 7 living in Australia, returning to the UK at the age of 27. He is married to his wife Tanya for 23 years and has a 13 year old daughter and 9 year old son.

In 2012 Alastair was awarded the Cisco CFO catalyst award for Innovation, developing alternative channels to market which resulted in significant incremental revenue growth and once again received this award in 2014 for the creation of the Cisco 1CT – 1 click tool, which delivers competitive blended solutions by leveraging Cisco Refresh products.

In 2001, Cisco Capital introduced Cisco Certified Refurbished Equipment (CCRE) a program designed to sell Cisco’s high-quality refurbished products. To address the growing secondary market, and provide a price-competitive and trusted alternative in those cases when buying new equipment is not an option, Cisco Capital is evolving its CCRE program to become Cisco Refresh.
